Joseph received an LL.B. degree from Columbia and an LL.M. degree from George Washington U. In WW II, he served as a lieutenant with the Air Force in the Pacific. He began his legal career at the Dept of Justice, Washington DC and later became VP & Senior Counsel at RCA. Joseph married Cylvia Freedland about 1949. They lived in Indianapolis in 1965 and later moved to Florida.
