Mrs.Julia Mae Martin Lewis, age 95, of Valdese, formerly of Marion, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 21, 2010 while at College Pines Nursing Home in Valdese, N.C.
Mrs. Lewis was born in Yancey County on June 23, 1914 and was a daughter of the late Leroy Martin and Sallie Randolph Martin.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Marion. She will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Preceding Mrs. Lewis in death was her husband, Macon O. Lewis, son, Gary Lewis, daughter, Betty Jo Lewis Wells and grandson, Brandon Baker.
Surviving Mrs. Lewis are five children: Gerald Lewis and wife Lettie of Nebo, Michael Lewis of Marion, Regina Nesbitt and husband Don of Morganton, Sandra Miller of Marion and Darryl Lewis and wife Debra of Marion; brother, Berry Martin of Wilmington, CA; sister, Louise Ober'thorn of Philadelphia, PA; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Interment will be in McDowell Memorial Park.
