Funeral services for Arleen Allenback will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on O'Hara Drive with Bishop Nathan Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2010 at Gillette Memorial Chapel.

Arleen Allenback, age 82, of Gillette, Wyoming died at her home on Friday, June 11, 2010 of natural causes.

Arleen Allenback was born on September 3, 1927 in Seattle, Washington the daughter of Charles William Funk and Alta Melissa Callar. She was raised in Snohmish, Washington where she graduated from Snohomish High School. She then attended Nampa Business College in Idaho from 1949 to 1951. Arleen met and married Cecil Allenback in 1951 and started a family. Cecil passed away in January 1962. She later met Omar Buckner. The couple married in April 1962 and they moved to Washington. Arleen and Omar started a family and she worked at Lockheed in a clerical position. The couple later divorced. Arleen moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1974, and began working as a secretary for the Richard Beech Company who built Indian Hills. She also worked as a night auditor for the Sands Hotel from 1974 to 1978 and the Holiday Inn from 1978 to 1983. Arleen started working at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in 1978 in the billing department. She later became a ward clerk and then moved to the emergency room as an admitting clerk. Arleen retired after 27 years in 2005. Her favorite sport was football and she was an avid Broncos fan. Arleen also enjoyed watching Nascar, hockey, and baseball, reading books and doing crossword puzzles. She dearly loved her family, friends and co-workers. Arleen was an amazing woman who will be greatly missed by many.

Arleen is survived by her daughters: Kerry Buckner of Gillette, Wyoming and Sherrie Allenback of Gretna, Nebraska; sister, Luella Stephens of Marysville, Washington; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Cindy Allenback in 2003 and Sallie Ann Buckner in 1967 and son, Arlyn Allenback in 1972.
