JEAN M. FRACTIOUS 82, a Pomona resident for 47 years, transitioned from this life to Glory on June 16, 2010. She died surrounded by family after a battle with CHF. Jean was born July 17, 1927 in San Antonio, TX to William and Cora Chappel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and one daughter. Jean is survived by 11 children, 17 grand- children and 14 great grandchildren.

Jean graduated from Jefferson High in L.A in 1945. After being a homemaker, she was hired by the PUSD as a teacher's aide where she worked until she retired in 1991. Jean received numerous awards for her achievements including "Teacher of the Year" in 1990. Jean's hobbies included walking with the Montclair Walkers, group swimming at Ability First, traveling with friends to Pechanga & shopping. She was an avid supporter of Feed the Children, St. Jude's, and the Pomona Firefighters & Police Assocs. Jean was a member of Family Christian Center of Pomona.

Her funeral services will be held Saturday, June 26th at 11:30am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (224 W. California Ave, Ontario). Immediately following the funeral services, there will be an internment at Forest Lawn, Covina Hills. The wake is Friday, June 25th 5pm - 9pm, Forest Lawn.
