H. Maxine Armstrong, 87, of Batesville died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at White River Medical Center.

She was born in Jamestown, Arkansas on Tuesday, July 18, 1922 and was the daughter of Guy and Maud (Churchwell) Cullins.

Maxine retired from Sears and Roebuck as a head cashier and she was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed yard work and watching her sports. She was an avid Razorback fan and kept up with the Florida Gators because of her daughter, Linda. Maxine loved her family and friends.

She is survived by one son: Win Armstrong and his wife, Margaret, of Starke, Florida; one daughter: Linda Moores and her husband, Jerry, of Tampa, Florida; five grandchildren: Helen Shinn, Amy Armstrong White, Ashley Armstrong, Charles Moores, and Courtney Moores; five great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Wanda Armstrong; sister-in-law, Betty Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Armstrong; two sons: Wayne Armstrong and Lynn Armstrong; Sister: Imogene Johns; and brothers: J. S. Cullins, Doryce Cullins, and Garland Cullins.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Armstrong, Phillip Shinn, Tyler Shinn, Kenny Gerhardt, Ronnie Reddmann, and Roy Row, Jr.

Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at the Roller-Crouch Chapel with Rev. David Steele officiating.

Burial will follow the service at Kyler Cemetery in Southside under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
