"Bill" died July 12, 1989 after years of battling Parkinson's Disease. He was one of the most humble persons you would ever meet. He loved his family and gave everything to them not asking for anything for himself. He retired from J.P. Stevens & Company after 38 years. He never missed a day of work except when he suffered a stroke in the early 1970's. He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Gastonia, N.C. where his family attended church. He was a devout Christian and read his Bible daily. He was a wonderful father and is missed daily.
