Newark Boy Drowned.
Roy Baker, 16 years old, son of Mrs. Philip Hofen of Newark, was drowned Sunday afternoon in the creek south of Newark. Three other boys with him, Louis Myers, Homer McSorley and Edgar Bentley. They were wading near what is known as the "Rock Hole," twenty feet deep, and the Baker boy got into this. McSorley attempted to help Baker but found he would be drowned himself, and gave up the attempt. The body recovered by Frank Glover, who dived for it, an hour and a half after the accident.
