Aileen " Mimi" Armstrong, 89, went into God's loving embrace on June 15, 2010. She was born on May 12, 1921, in Lubbock, Texas, to Jewel and Herbert Stubbs. She lived her senior years near family in Dallas. Mimi was married to Tom Armstrong until his passing in 1984. She attended Texas Tech University, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lubbock and Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas.
We loved her as a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her spirit of courage and integrity will live in our hearts forever. Throughout her life, she touched the lives of many and was a kindhearted, gracious lady. Her passions included family, music, reading, knitting, sewing, and Dallas Cowboy football.
Family survivors include her daughter Kay Woodard and husband Bill, son John "Tommy" Armstrong and wife Casey, granddaughter Deborah Kerbow and husband Tommy and their children Brandon, Michael, and Wimberley. Extended family members include grandson Chuck Woodard and his wife Marilyn, and grandson Kyle Woodard. Great-grandchildren include Meredith Dowdy and her husband Mike, Ashley Tanner and her husband Brian, Justin Woodard, and Kaid Woodard. Recently Mimi was blessed with great great grandchildren: Addison Dowdy and Cody Tanner.
