Alajawan Brown 12 yrs old moved to Washington from Texas with his family. He was mowing yards in the neighborhood and doing other odd jobs so that he could pay the registration fee to play football. Alajawan
had just gotten off a Metro bus last week and was walking home, returning from buying new football cleats, when he was caught in gunfire that killed him.
A shooting that stemmed from a dispute involving a 27-year-old man who was wounded in the gunfire and some other people. The fight began around 6 p.m. near the 7-Eleven in the parking lot of the Cedar Village Apartments, 6230 S. 129th St., in the Skyway neighborhood of unincorporated King County. At least 20 shots were fired, one of them struck Alajawan.
Detectives with King County Sheriff's Office say the boy was an innocent bystander.

UPDATE: SUSPECT CAUGHT.Curtis John Walker a felon with a lengthy criminal history of selling drugs, domestic violence and possession of firearms dating back to the 1990's is scheduled to be arraigned on July 1, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. at the King County Courthouse. Prosecutors requested bail to be set at $5,000,000.
