Cpl. Michael C. Bailey, 29, of Park Hills, Mo., died June 16 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, IMarine Expeditionary Force, based at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif. Michael proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 8 years before joining the United Marine Corps. He was a graduate from West County Class of 1999. Before entering the Navy Michael was very active with the Leadwood Fire Protection District. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Dorothy Lynn Turner; Sister, Gina Ketcherside, and Niece, Eva Jo Linn Ketcherside. Michael is survived by his Father, Michael Bailey; Grandmother, Mabel Turner Montgomery; Nephew, Bradley Ray Ketcherside; also survived by many other family members and numerous friends.
