Mary Oleita Bubnack, 85, Rockford, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, in River Bluff Nursing Home. She was born October 7, 1924, in Amo, Indiana, the daughter of Ed and Flossie (Foster) Rumley. Mary married Frank Bubnack in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was employed by Stuckeys, which was later Baskins, as a sales clerk for 25 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she was a longtime member of the choir. Mary was an avid golfer and played in women's golf league called the "Happy Hookers" for many years. She was a Jefferson High School Booster Club member for many years where she especially enjoyed the basketball games.
Survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank; sons, Gary of Stillman Valley, Randy (Valerie) of Rockford, and David (Jannice) of Loves Park; grandchildren, Emily, Joel, and Shay Bubnack, Kali, Caleb, Samuel, and Maddi Bubnack, and Kaila and Craig Bubnack; brother, Elmer Rumley, sister, Lois Fisler, both of Indianapolis, IN, and Alvin (Phylis) Rumley, Plainfield, IN; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; sister, Juanita Dawn; brothers-in-law, Jack Dawn & Robert Fislar and sister-in-law, Jenny Rumley
Funeral services were held at 11:00am, Monday, June 21, 2010, in Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Rd. Rockford, IL 61107 with Rev. Richard Carl Wisdom officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was from 5pm until 7pm Sunday, June 20, 2010, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL.
