A newspaper item appearing in a Texas newspaper in May 1961 gives a nice history of "Aunt Pic" as Beulah was called, indicates she was three years old when she traveled with her parents from Shady Grove, Alabama to Madison County, Texas. Later the family settled near Flynn in Leon County.
