Mrs. Marilyn Wright Abbey, age 72, of Briarwood Lane, Forest City, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Rutherford Hospital.

A native of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, she was a daughter of the late Guy Carroll Wright and Christine Fleming Wright; a former telephone operator, homemaker, and member of the First United Methodist Church of Forest City.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Abbey and a brother, Butch Wright.

Survivors include a son, Scott Abbey and wife Susan of Forest City, a daughter, Sandy Abbey and partner Connie Kendrick of Matthews, NC, and a sister, Carlene Adair and husband, Joe of Forest City.

A graveside service will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning, Wednesday, June 16th 2010 at Sunset Memorial Park with the Reverend K. Wesley Judy officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, Po Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
