CPL Robert Randles, son of Mrs. Jennie Stevens Randles, formerly of this city, was killed in action in France on August 31, according to information received by relatives here today.

Cpl Randles was born here Sept 8, 1917, the son of Frank G and Jennie Stevens Randles. He was educated in the public schools and graduated from OFA in 1937. He was interested in sports of all kind and was out for the football and basketball teams during his high school career. He received his army training at Fort Jackson, SC and went to England with the first forces to go across.

Surviving besides his mother, Mrs. Jennie Stevens Randles, who resides at 275 Huntington Ave, Buffalo, are two brothers, Richard, employed in the Bell Aircraft plant at Buffalo and William, head inspector in the Remington Rand plant at Binghampton. Also two sisters, Cpl Frances Randles, who is serving with a WAC unit in the South Pacific, and the former Miss Jane Randles, who is now married and living in Detroit. Several cousins and an aunt, Mrs. Charles Rand in this city.
