Mrs. Rachel B. Barrett Rites Held Wed. At Family Residence Member of Prominent Holmes Family Ill Several Months

Mrs. Rachel Burwell Barrett, Widow of W.O. Barrett, prominent Lexington banker, died at her home Tuesday morning after an illness of several months. Services were conducted from the residence at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Paul Bragg, pastor at the Lexington Baptist Church, officiating. Burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.

Mrs Barrett, a member of a family long prominent in Holmes county affairs, was born at Ebenezer and was married to the late Mr. Barrett on October 26, 1898. She was a Baptist and received her education at Miss Conway's School in Memphis. She was held in highest esteem by her circle of friends.

Surviving are three sons, Will B. Barrett, Pat M. Barrett and T.R (Dick) Barrett and two daughters, Mrs. L.R. Thompson and Mrs. Olivia B. Linfield of Gulfport. She also leaves five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were her nephews and all her friends.
