Gennie attended Stone Hill Elementtary School and graducated from Central High School in Shreveport. She joined the church at an early age, serving at Johnson Chapel Merhodist Episopal Church in Shreveport.
In 1940, she married Herman Bias and in 1942, they relocated to Los Angeles, California
Gennie worked for the County of Los Angeles Registrar Recorder Office for over 20 years. There she made friends that have lasted a lifetime.
On Wednesday, October 30, 2002, in Hesperia, California, the Lord called Gennie soul to rest.
