Gladys Washington Elliott, 77, formerly of Winchester, Virginia died Friday August 14, 2009 at home in Sterling, Virginia.

Mrs. Elliott was born March 23, 1932 in Capon Bridge, WV, she was the daughter of the late George Harrison Washington and Lavenia Mason Washington. She was a member of the Bread of life Church in Winchester, Virginia. She retired from Capital Record after 14 years.

She was married to Rudolph E. Elliott, Sr. who preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Larry Elliott (Shelia) of Winchester, VA, Rudolph E. Elliott, Jr., (Chris) of St. Roberts, Missouri, and Jonathan Elliott (Kim) of Sterling, VA; five daughters, Sylvia Washington of Baltimore, Md., Barbara Walker (Paul) of Winchester, VA., Anna Curry (Richard) of Hagerstown, Md., Narcissus Shields of Winchester, VA., and Felicia Boles (Darius) of Charlotte, N.C.; five sisters, Juanita Walker and Fannie Mason both of Winchester, VA., Alystine Walker and Louise Butler both of Stephens City, VA, and Rosella Jackson of Virginia Beach, VA.; 22 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

Five sisters, Mae Doleman, Jessie Hamilton, Ethel Doleman, Lillian Prather, Virginia Crittenden, and Mary Washington; and six brothers, Floyd Washington, Pearl Washington, Herman Washington, George Harrison Washington, John Washington, and Lewis Washington all preceded her in death.

A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday August 18, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Winchester, Virginia with Pastor Vernon Bray Officiating.

Family will receive friends Tuesday August 18, 2009 one hour before service at the church.

Interment will be at Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
