Mineral Point - Agnes L. Ellery, age 95 of Mineral Point passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Upland Hills Health Center in Dodgeville. She was born on December 8, 1914 on the home farm near Waldwick the daughter of Archie Lea and Mabel (Everson) Gordon. After attending Mineral Point High School she moved to Madison where she met William Vogel. They later married and moved to New York. William died in the Korean Conflict. She moved back to Mineral Point in 1950 and met and married Kenneth Ellery, who also preceded her in death.
Agnes is survived by two sons Richard (Karla) Vogel and Ken Ellery both of Mineral Point, 7 Grandchildren and 1 Great-grandchild, two sisters Lela Jacobson and Alice Noble both of Mineral Point. She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Sheila Tonkin, 2 brothers Harold and Curtis Gordon and 3 sisters Katherine Gordon, Marion McGuire, and Grace Cunningham.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 10:30am at The First United Methodist Church in Mineral Point. Pastor Mary Anne Conklin will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 9:00 am until time of service at the church.
