News reached the city Sunday evening of the sad death of Mrs. William Blanton at the family home a few miles west of town. It seems that Mrs. Blanton had been suffering from slight mental derangement for some time but was fairly cheerful on this occasion. Mr. Blanton had been shaving and had laid his razor up and was shingling his boy's hair when his wife secured the razor and cut her throat from ear to ear before he could interfere. She fell into his arms and soon expired, The remains were buried at Burn's Chapel cemetery Monday.
