The funeral of Joseph Butler took place yesterday afternoon from his late residence of West Union Street. Many friends assembled to take a last look at the remains. Rev. J. H. Chambers and Deborah Cope spoke at the house..
Interment was made at the Oakland Friend's Cemetery under the direction of John Thorpe (undertaker). The pall bearers were William Butler, Jr., Harry Butler, Charles Butler, Charles Scott, Elwood Moore and William S. Windle.
