Also known as A.N. Lombardi, Angelo arrived at Ellis Island in New York City on May 17, 1905 on the La Gascogne which sailed from Le Havre, France. Upon his arrival in America, he settled in a small apartment on MacDougal Street in Little Italy and worked for several years as a jeweler at the famous Mittledorfer-Strauss Jewelers on 5th Avenue.
In 1914 he moved to El Paso Texas where he became a well known jeweler, businessman and community leader during the 1920's through the 1940's. He owned his own jewelry manufacturing company, A.N. Lombardi Jewelers. He served as president of the El Paso Italian-American Club, "Christoforo Columbo", which promoted the preservation of Italian language, culture and community and was appointed consular agent, representing the Italian Consulate in El Paso, Texas.
Angelo Nicola Giuseppe Lombardi was the father of 6 children; Marie Lombardi-Seidlinger, Elizabeth Lombardi-Davis, Anita Lombardi-Steinhauser, Vincenzo Dominick Lombardi, Carlos Lombardi (Chavez) and my father, Nicklo "Nick" Angelo Lombardi.
Angelo passed away as a result of a heart attack at his jewelry shop on February 2, 1946 in El Paso, Texas and was laid to rest at the Evergreen Alameda Cemetery.
