Jerald "Jerry" N. Hobby, 81, passed away June 5, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Jerry was retired from the State of Florida Public Defenders Office after 30 years of service. He served his country in The United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was an avid golfer and loved The Gator Football and Basketball teams. He also loved to fish in the St. Johns River. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 40 years, Betty Taylor Hobby; 3 sons, Jerald (Robyn), David Taylor and Wayne Taylor (Angela); one daughter, Valerie Edwards (Jimmy) and brother, Roger Hobby (Betty); 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased in death by brothers, Purvis and Lewis Hobby and his parents, Lewis and Gertrude Hobby. At the request of the deceased a private family memorial service will be held.
