Barbara Edwards Cable, 78, of 1605 King Springs Road, Johnson City, passed away Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

She was a native and lifelong Washington County resident and a daughter of the late Mark and Hannah Hughes Edwards.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Cable; one step son, Bartley Craig Cable of Chandler, Arizona; six sisters, Ruth O'Brien and Mae Snodgrass both of Port Charlotte, Florida, Irene Stanbery and Lois Sells and her husband Bill all of Johnson City, Judy Hodge of Bluff City and Glo Houston and her husband Ben of Surgoinsville; one brother, Edger Edwards and his wife Martha of Johnson City and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 PM Monday, May 29 at 8:00 PM from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Andrew E. Spence, Jr. will officiate. Burial services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday from the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 9:15 AM Tuesday and proceed to the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday.
