Mrs. A. W. Gumm

Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Williams Gumm passed away at the Doster Hospital, Columbus, Mississippi, on January 10th, as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident on January 5th at Mayhew Junction. Her mother, Mrs. Mabel Williams, who was also injured in the wreck died January 5th. This was the sixth death at Mayhew Junction this year.

Mrs. Gumm formerly lived near Winona but moved to Biloxi several years ago with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Frank Williams. She was born in Lexington March 23, 1923, and in November, 1941, was married to Norton W. Gumm of Ocean Springs.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, January 12th, at two o'clock at Liberty Chapel Church in Holmes County with the Rev. Harrington officiating. Interment was in Liberty Chapel cemetery with Oliver Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Gumm leaves a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Gumm, her father, W. Frank Williams, both of Ocean Springs, one brother, William Frank Williams, Ocean Springs, and two sisters, Mrs. Willie Joe Repult of Tupelo and Mrs. Mable Louise Lee of Georgetown, Miss.
