Marguerite Alice Casto died Sept 26, 2000, at age 95. A service was held.

Mrs. Casto was born Dec. 29, 1904, in Chicago and was raised in Spokane and Glendale, Calif. Her maiden name was Naughton. She graduated from the Bible Institute of Los Angeles and then was a missionary in China for 12 years. In 1938, she moved to Milwaukie and was a secretary for the International Christian Leprosy Mission in Tigard for about 20 years. In about 1958, she moved to Pasadena, Calif., where she was an Army and later Air Force civil service bookkeeper until her retirement in 1972. She moved to Newberg in 1999, and was a member of the Chehalem Valley Baptist Church. In 1926 she married Joseph Harold Casto; he died in 1992.

Survivors include her daughters, Ruth M. Casto and Edith Wass; son Robert; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Her son Jim died in 1999.

Interment is in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress, Calif. The family suggests remembrances to her church. Arrangements were by Attrell's Newbery Funeral Chapel.
