Clarence Ingvald Eraker was born August 3, 1913, in Winger Township to Andrew and Dina (Anderson) Eraker. He was baptized and confirmed at the Faaberg Lutheran Church in Rindahl. He attended Wooded Park School, Fertile High School, and Mahnomen High School, graduating from there in 1933.
On November 25, 1943, he married Andrea Moland of Fertile. They made their home on the Eraker farm southwest of Winger until moving to Fosston in 2001. He retired from farming in 1980. In 1963 he was appointed as a director/agent for King Town Farmer's Mutual Insurance Company and became its president in 1972, serving in that capacity until 1994.
Clarence was very active in Calvary Lutheran Church in Winger and in the community, serving on a number of different boards. For many years he was a member of the Winger Lions Club.
Clarence passed away at the age of 92 years on January 18, 2006, at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, where he had resided for two weeks.
Survivors include his wife, Andrea, also a resident of the Pioneer Care Center; three daughters, Kay (Aage) Carlsen of Fosston, Donna (Calvin) Skeie of McIntosh, and Darlene (Rodney) Gunderson of Duluth; a sister, Irene Solie of Minot, North Dakota; a brother, Raymond of Casselton; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Alma, and five brothers, Helmer, Arnold, Ervin, Leonard, and Arthur.
Honorary pallbearers were Clarence's grandchildren—Daniel Gunderson, Zachary Gunderson, Anita Roy, Kristi Skeie, Roxanne Warren, Brian Carlsen, Kathleen Stortroen, and Ben Carlsen.
Active pallbearers were Blanchard Krogstad, Lyle Nesvold, Wallace Aakhus, Kenneth Bratager, Milton Carlson, Darrel Westcott, and Bryan Stortroen.
