A beautiful cheerful rose was plucked from our midst, his name was James Andrew Flemmons, Sr. James was born May 21st 1929 to George and Mary Flemmons, he was the sixth child of thirteen. After a short illness, James departed this life February 2, 1992, at the age of 62. James will be remembered forever as someone who was always cheerful, energetic and always on the go.
He leaves the cherish his memories, his father George Flemmons of Tullahassee, Oklahoma; a special friend, Elizabeth Knox; four daughters, Carolyn Renfro and Rozalyn Flemmons, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, LaJuanda Bonds of Denver, Colorado, Florence Flemmons of Marion, Indiana; two sons, James Andrew Flemmons, Jr. and Samuel Leon Flemmons, both of Marion, Indiana; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; six sisters, Georgia Mae Gasque of Baltimore, Maryland, Ida B. Jones of Gibson Station, Oklahoma, Liberia Miller of Plymouth, Minnesota, Berthetta Ridge of San Pablo, California, Carrie Grayson of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Dorothy of Tullahassee, Oklahoma; one brother, Richard Flemmons of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Preceding him in death were his mother three sisters and two brothers.
His funeral was held Saturday, February 8, 1992 at 1:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Reverend L. G. Gardner, Pastor, officiated.
