Frederick Lee Roy Brown, 77, of Kansas City, KS passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Providence Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Fire Fighters Relief Association, 815 N. 6th Street, Kansas City, KS 66101, or Harvesters, P.O.Box 412233 Kansas City, MO 64141-2233.

Fred was born on March 28, 1933 in Kansas City, KS to Gaylord Leroy and Helen Ethel (Dano) Brown. He graduated from Argentine High School in 1952, and then served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. Fred was a member of the Masonic Order-Armourdale Lodge #271/Wyandotte Lodge #3, a Life time VFW member, a member of The Fireman's Association, and an active member of the NRA. He was a rookie on the Kansas City Kansas Fire Dept January 16, 1957, and retired as the Fire Marshall in December, 1993.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Robert L. Brown.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ruth L. Brown of the home; son, Kevin Brown and his wife Stephanie of Kansas City, KS; and daughter, Tami Miller and her husband Myles of Colorado Springs, CO. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his four grandchildren, Tyler Miller, Trevor Miller, Trent Miller, and Morgan Brown.
