Laura Mae Hoover, age 56, of Sandusky, OH, died unexpectedly on July 7, 2008 at Elyria Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 18, 1951 to Lloyd and Dorothy (Porter) Barcus. She graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1970. Laura married James Hoover in 1985, and he survives.
Mrs. Hoover owned and operated Furniture Liquidators in Sandusky for 20 years. Prior to this she worked as a cook at the Winesburg Inn in Clyde, OH for several years. She was a member of NorthPointe Baptist Church, Sandusky.
Laura is survived by her mother, Dorothy Barcus of Sandusky; Her husband of 23 years, James Hoover, Sr. of Sandusky; Sons: Charles (Jennifer) Shultz and James Hoover, Jr., both of Sandusky; Daughters: Amy (John) Stamm and Jennifer Hoover, both of Sandusky; Grandchildren: Kennadi and Kaleb Shultz, Kayden Knueve, Kylie Crow all of Sandusky; Sister: Patricia (Dan) Artino of Huron, OH; and Brothers: Paul (Janet) Barcus of Port Clinton, OH; Lloyd Barcus of Norwalk, OH, Richard (Molly) Barcus of Sandusky, OH and Josh Barcus of Sandusky. She was preceded in death by her father: Lloyd Barcus and her maternal grandmother Edith Porter.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 10, 2008 from 2 – 8 p.m. in the Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Wally Gilbert on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11:00am at NorthPointe Baptist Church, 2611 Campbell St., Sandusky, OH. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
