Mae's father, Harry Clark Elkin (1879-1913), died when she was three and she was raised by Foster Parents Robert Adams (memorial #11603559) and Elmina 'Barrett' Adams (memorial #11603671) in Smicksburg, PA where she attended "The Loop" school.
Mae married William R. Anderson on March 14, 1929, and had three children, Doris R.(Anderson)McGeary, Mary Louise (Anderson) Carnahan and Robert F. Anderson.
During her 70 year marriage, she was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was active in Church and community in both Cheswick, PA and Cocoa, Florida. In addition, Mae had worked at the Pittsburgh Field Club for many years and was loved and frequently praised by the members there.
Mae had a terrific sense of humor and told captivating stories. She had youthful mobility even in the last years of her life, impressing her grandchildren with agility tricks to get that smile she loved. She always placed the needs of others over her own and was an absolute joy to be around.
