Norbert E. Dietrich, 64, of 725 Milwaukee Street, Kiel died unexpectedly Sunday morning at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.
He was born October 26, 1922, in St. Nazianz the son of the late William F. and Minnie Gutman Dietrich. On May 1, 1948 he married Beatrice L Kretsch at St. Boniface Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Dietrich graduated from St. Gregory Grade School, St. Nazianz, and Valders High School. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.
He was a Sheet Metal worker at Household Utilities in Kiel for 19 years and presently employed at Groeschel Co., Malone. Mr. Dietrich was an avid sports fan, and played in the Manitowoc County hard ball league for many years.
He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kiel, a member of the VFW Post 6707, Kiel, a Charter member of the St. Nazianz Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 18.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice, two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Kay, Kiel, Daniel and Carol, Houston, TX., one daughter, Melody of Kiel, one granddaughter, Ashley, and one step-grandson, Dean; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Eileen of Kiel, Harold and Mary, Brillion, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Al and Millie Berkey, of Kewaunee, Mrs. Jean Russnak, Chicago, and Mrs. Etta Sacharski, Chicago. Mother-in-law, Mrs. Daniel Kretsch, Manitowoc, brothers/sisters-in-law Donald and Imogene Fictum of New Holstein, Edward and Betty Kretsch, Manitowoc, and numerous nieces and nephews.
