Son of John and Sarah Ackert. Husband of Sarah J. (Lumbard) Ackert of Brimfield (married in Brimfield 28 January 1852 by Rev. Jason Morse, Congregational Minister). They had a son born in 1865 and a daughter, Hattie Bell Ackert, born in 1868 (both in Brimfield). He was painter and sometime shoemaker who died, a widower, of a fractured skull, age 61 years.


Montraville Ackert, 65, a traveling painter, who fractured his skull while frescoing a house in the city, died at the Springfield hospital Saturday. A brother from North Adams and a daughter came to claim the body.
