Alfretta was a member of the West Deerfield United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Otter Lake Literary Club and the West Deerfield Methodist Church Women's Group. She is survived by; her sister-in-law, Mabel Chaplin of Lapeer; nieces, ... ... ... ...; nephews, ... ... ; many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Balman, and brother. Friends may visit the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 9PM, Sunday from 10 AM until 9PM. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 24, at 11AM from the Baird-Newton Funeral Home in Columbiaville, Pastor Donald Fairchild will officiate with burial in West Deerfield Cemetery.
