Danny Joe Johnson, 52, of Hallsville died Friday, May 28, 2010, at his home in Hallsville.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Parker Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Parker Funeral Service. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Danny was born Feb. 22, 1958, in Columbia to Bobby Joe and Hazel G. Rice Johnson. He graduated from Hallsville High School in 1977. He was married to Deborah B. Cullimore on Feb. 3, 1978 in Columbia, and she survives.

Danny lived his entire life in Boone County. He was a member of the Boone County Sheriff's Department for 25 years, retiring as a sergeant in 2008. He was a K-9 Officer for more than 20 years and remained as a reserve officer after retirement. He was a member of the Missouri Police K-9 Association and the Boone County Emergency Response Team. He was a charter member of the Hallsville Optimist Club. After his retirement, Danny owned and operated Central Missouri Spray Foam Insulation Co.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Johnson of Hallsville, two daughters, Carrie M. Johnson and Holly A. Johnson, both of Hallsville; his mother, Hazel G. Magers of Hallsville; four sisters, Diane Crosswhite of St. Louis, Doris Driskill of Hallsville, Delores Cabrera and husband Patrick of Wildwood, Mo., and Denise Smith and husband Robert of Clark; nieces and nephews, Shawn Crosswhite, Andrew Smith, Luke Cullimore, Thomas Griffith, Mikia Cullimore, April Smith, Nicole Driskill, Amanda Cabrera, Kali Griffith, Mason Cullimore; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and one nephew.

Memorials may be given to the Molly Bowden Scholarship Fund or the Missouri Sheriff's Association Scholarship Fund.
