"Died as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in the service of his community as a Dallas Police Officer. He is survived by his wife of 22 years.
"He is also remembered by the members of the Dallas Police Department and the many health care workers who have become his caretakers and friends since the accident.
"Donnie graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1969. He attended Tyler Junior College and El Centro College. He became a member of the Dallas Police Department on August 29, 1972. After graduation from the Police Academy, he was assigned to the Central Patrol Division. He later transferred to the Traffic Division where he was an
Accident Investigator. He became a Motorcycle Officer and rode for 11 years. Upon his promotion to Sergeant, he was assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division. He was
severely injured in a line of duty automobile accident as he was travelling to aid another officer on August 29, 1992. He has remained hospitalized since the accident, living for the last seven years at the Dallas Home for the Jewish Aged, Golden Acres Campus. Awards included numerous citizen commendations, supervisors commendations, two Police
