Laura Edna (Arnold) Allison, 98, went home to be with her Lord, on Sunday May 30, 2010, at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Shrewsbury. She was the wife of the late Kenneth E. Allison, Sr.

Born on May 13, 1912, in Hopewell Township, she was the daughter of the late William E. Arnold and Ida M. (Lerew) Arnold.

Laura and her husband Ken, started a trucking business in 1946 in Hungerford where she worked by his side, keeping the office running smoothly, until his death in 1972. She also was the secretary for Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shrewsbury for 20 years, retiring on December 31, 1993. A member of Glenview Alliance Church, she enjoyed being part of the Sunday School and the Autumn Pioneers.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Kenneth E. Allison II and his wife, Kaye of Glen Rock; her grandchildren, Kristi Chapman and her husband, Jack and Kevin E. Allison and his wife, Jennifer; her great-granddaughters, Megan and Heidi Chapman and Emily and Kylie Allison; a sister, Mary Schaefer of York; and two sisters-in-law, Theada Arnold and Ellie Allison. She was predeceased by five brothers, Carl, Stewart, William, Sterling and Earl Arnold; and a sister, Louise Schaefer.

Interment in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
