LANCASTER, SC::::::::::::: Mrs. Mildred Caskey McWaters, age 100, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at White Oak Manor where she was a resident. She was born February 16, 1909 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late James H. Caskey and Annie Williams Caskey and was the wife of the late Walker Attaway McWaters. Mrs. McWaters was a retired business owner of McWaters Home Furnishings and was an active member of First United Methodist Church since 1937. She served as Sunday School President for over 30 years, 3 terms on the Administration Board and was a member of the United Methodist Women's organizations as the first president of the Wesleyan Service Guild for 10 years which later became a part of United Methodist Women's Organization. She served as the District Recording Secretary for the District UMW, was active with the Golden Age Club, past president of the M & M's and was presented the UMW Gold Certificate and Pin in 2003 on behalf of the UMW Unit of First United Methodist Church for her faithful service for over 50 years. Mrs. McWaters was survived by 2 daughters, Mary Ann M. Wade of Lexington and Nancy M. Crolley of Lancaster, 14 grandchildren, Bobby McWaters, Jr., Randall Robinson, Michael Robinson, Jonathan Robinson, Jim C. McWaters, Brian McWaters, Scott McWaters, Greg Crolley, Keith Crolley, Tony Crolley, Dennis L. Wade, Julie R. Freeman, Denise W. Jordan, and Sheila McWaters, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. McWaters was preceded in death by 2 sons, Bobby Walker McWaters, James C. McWaters, a sister, Almetta C. Boulware, a brother, Everette Caskey, and 2 half brothers, Claude Culp and John Paul Culp. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. McWaters will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 6, 2009 at First United Methodist Church by Rev. Dan Batson with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mrs. McWaters will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 Saturday, June 6, 2009 at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and the family suggest memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, Archives Ministry, PO Box 608, Lancaster, SC 29721
