Alma Virginia Cone, 85, formerly of Knotts Island, died July 3, 2000, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Cone was born in Norfolk County and was the daughter of the late Ada Diggs Jones and the late Alex Jones and was the widow of U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Joe F. Cone.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Jean Goodyear and husband, Steve, of California; a son, Raymond Jones and wife, Jill, of California; a sister, Margaret Smith of Midlothian, Va.; two brothers, Jack Jones and Howard Jones and his wife, Jeanette, of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren; six great-grandchild and a great-great-grandchild. She will be dearly missed by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, by the Rev. Ernest Trueblood. Burial will be private. Family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m.
