William T. Rowe, 61 Life - Long Resident Of Colorado, Dies
William Thomas Rowe, resident of Golden for the last thirty years passed away at his home, 1219 Twelfth street, Thursday, February 3. He had been in ill health for a number of years, but was taken seriously ill only a few days before his death. Mr. Rowe was born in Nevadaville, Colo., January 16, 1883, the son of Thomas Henry and Martha Jane Rowe. He spent his entire life in Colorado, and was reared and made his home in Gilpin county until moving to Golden in 1912. Before coming here he was engaged in mining work in Gilpin county and was employed for twenty-five years at the Parfet clay mines here. Ill health forced him to retire from active work about six years ago. On Jnnuary 20, 1907, Mr. Rowe and Florence Webster of Golden, also formerly of Gilpin county, were united in marriage. Surviving him are: his wife, Mrs. Florence Rowe; four sons, Wilbur R., William V., Willis C., all of Golden, Henry W. Rowe of Wheat ridge; two daughters, Edna Rosella Pomeroy, Ruby V. Rowe, both of Golden; two sisters, Lillian Ray of Golden, and Susie Gross of Arvada; two brothers, Thomas and Elmer Rowe of Golden; and 8 grandchildren, Rose Marie, Kenneth and Carol Jean Rowe. Funeral services were held from the Woods Mortuary chapel on Monday afternoon, with Rev. J. Graydon Wilson officiating. Interment was in Golden cemetery.
