Elizabeth "Betty" Armbruster, 86, of Cozad died Dec. 9, 2006, at Gothenburg. She was born Dec. 24, 1919, at Curtis to Fred and Alta Latham Schroeder. She graduated from the Nebraska School of Agriculture at Curtis. She attended Lindenwood College for Women in Missouri and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
In 1939, she married Allan Armbruster. The couple made their home on a farm east of Cozad before moving to Cozad.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she served on several boards. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, Daughters of the American Revolution, PEO Chapter CO, Cozad Book Club and a member of a bridge club. At one time, she was an owner, and member of the board of directors, of First Bank & Trust Company. She served on the board of the Cozad Community Scholastic Board when it was first organized.
Survivors include a son, Andy (Betty Ann) of Omaha; a daughter, Susan (Willard) Moore of Denver; two sisters, Katherine Wilson of Cozad and Helen (William) Latta of Santa Barbara, Calif.; four grandchildren, Megan and Drew Armbruster and Shawn and Kelley Kruidenier; and two great-grandchildren, Payton and Ashley Kruidenier.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982; a daughter, Ann Buckman; and a brother, Fred.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Cozad with the Rev. Lyle Schoen officiating.
Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today AT the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
