Anna (Jordan) Willcockson was born on 7 June, 1756. In an 1884 letter to Boone biographer, Lyman Draper, Anna's granddaughter stated that she was originally from Maryland. Other than that, no clues to her ancestry have been found. She married Samuel Willcockson, son of John and Sarah (Boone) Willcockson, on 3 July, 1775 in Rowan Co., North Carolina. They lived for many years in Ashe Co., North Carolina, before moving to present Lee Co., Kentucky in about 1815. By 1830, Anna was a widow and in that year she moved with several of her children to Fulton Co., IL. She died there ten years later on 21 March, 1840, at the age of 83 years. The dates of birth, death, and marriage of Anna (Jordan) Willcockson were recorded in the family bible of her grandson, Isaac Aaron Willcoxson.

Information provided by her grandson, Jeremiah F. Willcoxen, in the Portrait and Biographical Album of Fulton County, Illinois (Biographical Publishing Company, 1890, pg. 665; 835), describes Anna (Jordan) Willcockson as follows: "She was a strict adherent of the Baptist faith and noted for her goodness of heart. Her last years were passed in this county [Fulton Co., IL], on the homestead where our subject [Jeremiah F. Willcoxen] now lives, she having come hither with her son Elijah in 1830. She had attained the venerable age of eighty-four years at the time of her death. She was the mother of ten children, six sons and four daughters, namely: Squire, Samuel, Elijah, Isaiah, Alfred, Jesse, Sarah, Francis, Mary, and Debbie."
