Wilson, OK — Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ann "Cookie" Morgan, 79, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 1 p.m. this afternoon at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Denise Balmer officiating. Interment will follow at Morgan's Rest Cemetery in Simon. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.



Cookie was born January 1, 1931, at Port Arthur, Texas, to the late Mr. Andre Lastrapes and Mrs. Adele (Landry) Lastrapes. She departed this life Friday, May 21, 2010, at her home in Ardmore.



Cookie was raised in Louisiana, moving to Galveston, Texas, and resided there for 10 years, before moving to Oklahoma. She and Mr. Jerry Dwain "Fuzz" Morgan were united in marriage May 7, 1974, at Gainesville, Texas. They resided at Moore, Okla., for 30 years, moving to Ardmore just three years ago. Jerry preceded her in death on March 1, 2009.



Cookie was an avid reader. She loved watching television and liked working cross word puzzles. She enjoyed her children and their families and she loved watching her granddaughter Megan play softball.



Also preceding her in death is her parents; sister, Teresa Goins; brother, Junior Lastrapes; and son, Michael Garcia.



Survivors include three daughters, Anita White and husband, Dennis of Ardmore, Janet Harbeson and husband, Dee of Lone Grove, and Shelly Campbell and husband, Dr. David Campbell of Wilburton; five sons, Jimmy Garcia and wife, Nancy of Galveston, Texas, Larry Garcia of Florida, Tommy Garcia of Angleton, Texas, Marty Garcia of Dickinson, Texas, and Wade Garcia and wife, Trish of LaMarque, Texas; sisters, Dolores Brashier of Kilgore, Texas, and Andrea Gail of Louisiana; one brother, Charles LeBlanc of Houston, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.



Pallbearers are Anthony Meadows, Joshua Estrada, Kevin Freeman, Marty Garcia, Shawn Tucker, Wade Garcia, Jr., and Larry Garcia.



Honorary bearers are Bobby Hodges, Conver Nipp, Dee Harbeson, Stacy Tyner, Scott Minyard, Dr. David Campbell and Dennis White.
Memorial Donations may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 C St. NW, Ardmore, OK 73401.
