Granville A Barnes was born December 25, 1827.
Granville married Sarah A. Welch
Granville passed away on Mar 2, 1882.

Sarah A. Welch was born March 25, 1830 and passed away July 20, 1877.

Granville had a son, Marcus. Marcus married Caroline Barnes, who was suspected of practicing witchcraft (as local legend has it) and if you compare the dates of deaths of close family members, it provides another unusual and tragic set of circumstances for the family.

Marcus passed away from injuries that occurred in a mill accident on December 6, 1881, Caroline passed away on (Feb. 26 or Feb. 28) but on the stone her date is listed as Feb. 31, 1882, (2 1/2 months after her husband) and Granville Barnes passed away on March 2, 1882, only 4 or 5 days after Caroline.
