There was a statement in Mrs.Speeds book that Tom is supposed to have made
"Things i dislike is the Army, Attakapa ponies and Mississippi women !"
He also refused to sign the Amnesty Oath after the war.

Thomas H. Phillips died 2 July 1920
Thomas Hudson Phillips was son of Thomas E.Phillips
and Emily Day of St.Helena Parish La.
He was also a great uncle to young David Hudson Phillips buried here.
It is known that he lived for a time with his nephew
and niece Mr. & Mrs. Madison Monroe Phillips Jr.
