Dexter Daily Statesman

Mary Grace Banks, 65, a resident of Dexter formerly of Mississippi County, died Sunday May 9, 2010 at 4:46 p.m. in the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 6, 1944 in Charleston to the late James Edward Arnold, Sr. & Ruby Jane Golightly Arnold, Mary lived in Dexter for the past 15 years and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two sons, Melvin Banks, Jr. of Cahokia, Ill., and Jeff Banks of High Ridge; one daughter, Kim Willis of Dexter; one brother, Robert G. "Bob" Arnold of Dexter; one sister, Betty Buckthorpe of Sikeston; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Theodore Arnold and James Edward "Bud" Arnold, Jr.; and two sisters, Ruby Jane Harris King and Ruth Ann Pharris death.

Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Thursday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel with Bro. Tim Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Charleston with Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie in charge of arrangements.
