I didn't know my father ,. I've heard a lot of stories,and what I have gleaned from all of them is, he was a man that marched to the beat of his own drum. He didn't care what other people thought of him or of what he did, he did what he wanted and was true to himself, he didn't put on any pretense, he was just him and you have to respect that about him. My brother Lee knew him and went to visit him many times, he must of liked him or he would not of went back. My brother cared about him, my mother loved him at one time, so there were qualities about him they liked and I'm sure I would have also. His sons' Dana and Reldon and wife Marian loved him very much. I wish I would of had that chance. My mother cared as she saved all the wonderful pictures for his children, if she had disliked him so much she might have tossed them I am sure.......

Monty later married Mariam Maughan Turner, they were the parents of Reldon Lane and Dana Boone Montgomery, my two half brothers. Monty died from Colon Cancer.
