Earl Deppe
ALPHA--Earl Deppe, 61, formerly of Moline, died yesterday noon in the home of a son, Clifford Deppe, near Galesburg.
He was born Sept. 5, 1889, the son of Mary Russell and Henry Deppe, near Willisville, Ill.
He was married to Hazel Leary at Redbud, Ill., July 9, 1914. In 1941, they moved to a farm near New Windsor. He later lived in Missouri, and then returned to this community.
He was former owner of the Deppe market in Moline, and later was employed at American Machine and Metals, Inc., in East Moline, until three years ago, when ill health forced his retirement. He had lived since then with his children.
His wife died in 1929. He was a member of the Baptist church at Percy, Ill.
Surviving are four sons, Clifford, Ernest and Leroy of Galesburg, and Eugene, who is in the service in New Mexico, two daughters, Mrs. Ivan Shannon of Woodhull and Mrs. George Chase of Moline, and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2:30 in the Alpha Baptist church, with the Rev. S. B. Jensen of Sterling, former Alpha pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Alpha cemetery.
