ROCKDALE — Mae Philippus, 88, of Rockdale died Thursday, May 20, in a Temple hospital.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Rockdale with the Rev. Greg Spears and the Rev. Jack Chelf officiating.
Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
Mrs. Philippus was born on Feb. 21, 1922, to W.F. and Emilie F. Sassmanhausen Gandre in the Bebe community in Gonzales County. On March 19, 1945, she married J.A. Philippus in Monthalia Methodist Church in Monthalia. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Rockdale. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 27, 2001.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Diane Mason of Argyle and Jane Amelia Calk of Rockdale; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
