She was born Jan. 29, 1945, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Romaine (Yeager) Herrold and the late Roy E. Herrold. In 1986, she married Herman F. Guisewite, who later passed away on February 12, 2012.
She was a 1962 graduate of Sunbury High School. While in school, she was a member of the band and chorus and the Rainbow Girls.
Sandra was formerly employed at Boscov's Department Store, later at Geisinger Medical Center and last by Universal Studios in Florida.
She was a member of the Selinsgrove Adult Band and sang at many area nursing homes and retirement centers. She was a former den mother for the Boy Scouts of America.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey D. and Sharon Girton, of Harrodsburg, Ky., and Scott A. Girton, of Lewisburg; two grandchildren, Jennifer Devensky and husband Matthew, of Harrodsburg, and Jeremy Girton, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Ian Paul Devensky and Isabelle Louise Devensky; one brother and sister-in-law, Roy J. and Susan Herrold, of Winfield; four stepchildren, Debra, Mark, Terry and Jean Ann; one stepsister, Alberta Pensinger; one nephew and niece, Tyson and Quincy Herrold; and her favorite companion cat, Tigger.
She was preceded in death by two stepchildren, Regina and Herman Jr.
Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. today in the Chapel of the Angels at Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam, followed by the funeral at 3 with the Rev. Carl Fox officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.
