He was born April 14, 1929 in Needmore, MO to Ethel Cuttsinger Gray and Raymond Gray. He joined the Army in 1946 and served in Japan during the Occupation.
He married Catherine Ann Goris on September 18, 1950 in Ely, NV. They enjoyed fifty-eight years of marriage until Catherine's death in December 2008.
Carol worked for Kennecott Copper as a brakeman on the railroad until his medical retirement in 1984. Carol represented the United Transportation Union for many years as Secretary Treasurer.
He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth (Kent) Hedenstrom, grandson John, granddaughter Santina (Ricky) Malone, great granddaughter Gianna Madison Malone and daughter-in-law Toni Gray Hyler. He is also survived by his sister Lois VanDorn and many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his beloved sons, Randall Carol, Steven James, and Jon Lee, also, by his brothers Cash, Ralph, Van, Gene, J.M., and Raymond.
There will be a Memorial Service for Carol held in the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, UT, on Saturday, February 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., where you may greet the family from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
He will be interred at a later date with his wife, Catherine, in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
